Forged in Tsubame-Sanjo, Japan’s renowned metalworking district, the Asano Mokkousho Mini Gardening Set brings together high-quality craftsmanship with the contemporary design of Ikebana artist Keiko Yoshino. We particularly love how the Snow Beech handles are also sustainably sourced from the Oshirakawa Forestry Association’s Niigata forest thinning project.

Designed with professional agriculturalists’ advice in mind, these three tools are all a home gardener needs: A trowel with a back ledge that minimizes soil spillage, a spike/dibber to aerate soil and create seed holes, and a specially designed claw to be used as a fork and weeder.

Perfectly sized for terrace gardening, each white-enameled stainless-steel component is made to the high-standard of Asano Mokkousho’s professional agricultural tools.

For other home-gardening tools, take a look at the Asano Mokkoucho collection and visit our Gardening section for more ideas.

Founded in 1950, Asano Mokkousho was born from the marriage of Teisuke Asano, a Niigata farmer’s son and Sakae Sasagawa, the daughter of a Tokyo manufacturer. Teisuke’s knowledge of agricultural needs and Sakae’s manufacturing know-how led to its first product - a simple farming hook. Now the family-run business produces everything from home-garden sickles and hoes to specialized professional tools.

Items are made in Tsubame-Sanjo, Japan’s famed traditional metalworking district, where Asano Mokkousho works with a long-established network of craftspeople.
